Roasted Chicken Thighs Chinese Style

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, oyster sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, Chinese five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes (optional). Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish and rub them with salt and black pepper. Pour the marinade over the chicken thighs, making sure they are fully coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally, overnight in the fridge for maximum flavor.

Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Roast the chicken thighs
- Place the marinated chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roast the chicken thighs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Halfway through the cooking time, you can baste the chicken thighs with some of the marinade.

- Remove the roasted chicken thighs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with fresh spring onions and sesame seeds.
